Pride month is here and I’m so excited to celebrate and support my community how I can! For those who are new to my website, my name is Melody and I’m a demisexual, pansexual cis-woman. I spent so much of my life trying to figure who I am and I have to say that the least year has really helped me discover just that. Many people say to separate the art from the artist, but I couldn’t disagree more! We as artists are directly connected to our craft and we put our very essence into it. This is why I fully embrace who I am and I make a constant effort to grow and become a better person.
Before I’m an entertainer and an artist, I’m a human. I have always wanted my fellow human beings to live a life of safety, comfort, and happiness. So I feel it is my duty, as someone in a privileged position, to speak up and help amplify the voices of those who need support and who have constantly been speaking on these issues and making the active effort to help save lives. We should all do what we can to help one another, so here are causes that I hope you’ll consider donating to or sharing!
UNRWA
UNRWA human development and humanitarian services encompass primary and vocational education, primary health care, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance and emergency response, including in situations of armed conflict.
Sadly, people in Congo are suffering as well. Focus Congo is an organization that helps educate and provide support!
Consider supporting Sudan as well as they have suffered astronomically from the constant wars.
This one is a little more personal. Speaking of pride month, this woman made a huge impact on the LGBTQ+ community and was a staunch ally, actively loving, embracing, and helping people be who they truly are. Unfortunately, she has passed on, and her partner needs help with immediate expenses at her sudden departure and in facing a new transition in life. Consider donating or sharing for fellow members of the community who tirelessly worked to help others.
