Melody’s Video Game & Interactive Visual Reel 2024!

I thought it was about time after almost EIGHT years since I first started voice over that I should put together a visual reel featuring some of the characters I’ve voiced! Most people nowadays know me for all of the narration work I’ve done, but voicing in video games is one of my biggest passions in voice over, and it’s also how I got my start. I genuinely love working with indie developers because they create such incredible projects with so much heart and soul, dedicated to giving a high quality product even with more limited resources. As a fellow creative, that really speaks to me!

So let’s talk about a bit about the characters featured in this reel in order!

I am the voice of Elle from Crush Crush and Hush Hush!

Elle is one of my favorite roles I’ve ever voiced for so many different reasons. She was also one of my FIRST official paid gigs as a baby voice actor and like with many of my roles, I did take a risk with her voice. They wanted a voice that sleepy and reminiscent of Luna Lovegood, however, I put my own spin on it!

My voice for Elle can be described as gentle, airy, and light like the wind and it carries a lot of youth and femininity to match with her soft appearance and personality. In Crush Crush, I made her a lot sleepier sounding and a little “air-headed”. However, in Hush Hush, we had to ground her A LOT due to the serious themes in the game.

I am the voice of Lavender in Nanotale!

Master Lavender was a very pleasant surprise of a role for me. While not one of my more popular ones, I loved getting to voice a more mature character and showing off not just my range acting wise but also vocally. She’s a gentle and kind instructor to the game’s main character!

Her voice can be described as soothing, warm and aged. My goal was to make her so comforting to listen to but keep some of that whimsy and eccentricity!

Bearverly Crush Crush

I am the voice of Human Bearverly in Crush Crush!

Speaking of surprising roles…I was originally cast for only Elle in Crush Crush, however, Sad Panda Studios reached out to me to inquire about providing the voice over for this adorable and loud character! I didn’t know much about how she was originally portrayed, so I took the notes provided and ran with it.

She’s a bear turned human, so I decided to give her voice lots of projection and growling! She is unapologetically A LOT and I love that about her.

I am the voice of Candace from Huniepop 2!

Candace is probably my most popular role I’ve done in the indie game world. I was approached by the developer on Twitter to audition for the game and she was a character I put a twist on.

Candy is very sweet but she was also described as being not very smart. So I decided to make her voice gentle, sweet, feminine and almost cartoonish! A very fun character indeed.

I am the voice of Sep from The Hayseed Knight!

Now Sep, is completely opposite of Candace. She is extremely intelligent, multifaceted, and alluring. This is also one of my favorite roles because I really got to play with my acting range to bring this incredibly complex character to life!

I used my natural voice for this role which can be described as feminine, young, and warm. Sep holds a lot of confidence in herself and knows exactly what she wants, so I made sure to exude that and MORE into her performance.

I am the voice of Solveig, Aysu AND Narrator in Zorya: The Celestial Sisters

This role was particularly fun because they wanted me to provide the voice over for the three main characters. I gave Solveig(the golden character) a gentle, warm voice that showed her wisdom. I gave Aysu(the short blue character) a youthful, child-like voice with a lot of bitterness and sass present due to how she’s been treated.

These are not all my roles, just some that I think highlight my range! Here’s to many more to come.
